Privacy Policy and Cookies (Talnets)

This Privacy Policy explains how Talnets AG, Platz 10, 6039 Root, Switzerland (“Talnets”, “we”, “us”) collects and processes personal data when you use talnets.ch and app.talnets.ch and related services (together, the “Services”).

1. What this policy covers
This policy describes:
- what personal data we collect and where it comes from;
- how and why we use it (purposes and legal bases);
- when we share it and where it is processed;
- how long we keep it;
- how we protect it; and
- what rights you have and how to exercise them.
2. Key definitions
- Personal data: information relating to an identified or identifiable person (e.g., name, email, date of birth, IP address).
- Sensitive personal data: data requiring higher protection under applicable law (e.g., health data). We do not intentionally request sensitive data unless needed for a specific purpose that we clearly explain.
- Processing: any handling of personal data (e.g., collecting, storing, using, disclosing, deleting).
- Controller: the party that decides why and how personal data is processed. For the Services, the controller is Talnets AG.
3. What we collect
3.1 Data you provide
Depending on how you use the Services, you may provide:
- Account and profile data: name, email, password (hashed), date of birth / age confirmation, country, gender (optional), player position, team/club, league (optional), profile photo (optional).
- Match video information: video files you upload, or links/URLs to match videos hosted by third parties (and associated metadata you provide).
- Communications: messages and content you send us (email, contact forms, WhatsApp if you opt in), including attachments.
- Payment and billing data: if you purchase paid features, we receive payment status and transaction references from payment providers. We generally do not receive full card details.
3.2 Data we collect automatically
When you visit or use the Services, we may collect:
- Device and usage data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type/version, operating system, language, referring page, timestamps, pages viewed, clicks, and diagnostic logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 10.
3.3 Data from third parties
We may receive personal data from:
- Payment providers (confirmation that payment succeeded/failed).
- Analytics and advertising providers (when enabled, and where required, after your consent).
- Social media platforms if you interact with our social channels or use social features.
4. What we do with match videos and links
If you submit a video file or a link to a match video, we may:
- access the video content for analysis;
- process video frames and audio (if present) to generate football-related outputs such as events, highlights, statistics, performance insights, and player profile information; and
- store derived outputs (e.g., event tags, highlights, metrics) and associated profile data in your account.
Important notes:
- If you share a third-party link, the third-party host’s terms and privacy practices also apply.
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share the video with us (e.g., permissions from the uploader/rights holder, and required consents for participants where applicable).
5. Purposes and legal bases
We process personal data for the following purposes (legal bases may differ depending on your location):
- Provide and operate the Services (account creation, login, core functionality, customer support)

6. Sharing and disclosures
6.1 Service providers (processors)
We may share data with trusted vendors that help us operate the Services, such as:
- hosting and cloud infrastructure;
- video processing / compute providers;
- customer support tools;
- analytics providers;
- payment providers; and
- professional advisors (legal, tax, audit).
They may process data only on our instructions and must protect it.
6.2 Partners you choose to interact with
If you choose features that explicitly involve third parties (e.g., sharing your player card link, requesting a trial sharing feature, or integrating with another service), we share the data you choose to share, according to that feature.
6.3 Authorities and legal claims
We may disclose personal data if we believe it is required to:
- comply with law, regulation, or a lawful request;
- protect our rights, safety, and property; or
- investigate suspected wrongdoing.
6.4 Social media
If you click social links or interact with embedded content, those providers may collect data under their own policies. We do not control their processing.
7. International transfers
We are based in Switzerland, and our vendors may process data in other countries. Where required, we implement safeguards such as:
- contractual protections (including standard contractual clauses where applicable); and
- risk assessments and additional technical measures when needed.
8. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including legal and accounting requirements.
Typical retention rules:
- Account data: kept while your account is active; deleted or anonymized after account deletion requests, subject to legal obligations.
- Match videos and links: retained only as necessary to provide the Service and generate/maintain outputs; retention periods may differ depending on your plan and settings.
- Derived analytics/outputs: may be retained longer than raw video to preserve your profile history, unless you request deletion (and subject to legal obligations).
- Website/app logs: typically retained for a limited period for security and diagnostics.
- Ineligible registrations (U.S. under 13): if we identify a registrant as under 13 and located in the United States, we delete the submitted registration data without undue delay, except for minimal technical logs required for security and compliance.
If you want precise retention periods per data type for your deployment, we recommend publishing them in a short table once finalized.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL) and access controls. No system is 100% secure; you should also protect your credentials and devices.
10. Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies
10.1 What we use and why
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Essential functions (authentication, security, load balancing);
- Preferences (language, settings);
- Analytics (understanding usage, improving performance); and
- Marketing (measuring campaigns, advertising), where enabled.
10.2 Consent and controls
Where required by law, we request your consent before enabling non-essential cookies/pixels. You can manage cookies through:
- our cookie banner / preference settings (if available); and
- your browser settings (block, delete, restrict).
Note: blocking certain cookies may limit functionality (e.g., login persistence).
10.3 Tracking pixels
If enabled, pixels may collect device and usage data similar to server logs. We aim to activate non-essential tracking only after required consent and consistent with your preferences.
11. Communications (Email and WhatsApp)
11.1 Email
If you contact us by email, we process your email address and the content of your message to respond and maintain a record of the interaction.
11.2 WhatsApp (opt-in)
If you expressly consent, we may contact you via WhatsApp using the phone number you provided, for service updates and offers. WhatsApp may process metadata and content according to its own terms and may process data outside Switzerland/EU. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying “STOP” or contacting contact@talnets.ch.
12. Children and age eligibility (United States and elsewhere)
12.1 United States: under 13 (COPPA-related)
The Services are not offered to children under 13 who are located in the United States.
Registration data and eligibility checks. During registration, we may collect certain account and profile data (such as email address, name, age/date of birth and club/team) and may use technical indicators (such as IP address and other location signals) to determine whether a user is located in the United States and to verify eligibility to use the Services.
If we identify a U.S.-located user under 13. If we verify or reasonably suspect that a registration relates to a user who is under 13 and located in the United States, we will stop the registration process, not provide the Services, and delete the personal data submitted for registration without undue delay. We may retain minimal technical logs that are necessary for security, fraud prevention, and demonstrating deletion/compliance, but we do not keep the registration profile data for such blocked registrations.
Age representation. By registering, you represent that you are eligible to use the Services and, if you are located in the United States, that you are at least 13 years old. If you register on behalf of a minor in any jurisdiction, you represent that you have the authority to do so and that any required parent/guardian consents have been obtained.
12.2 Other regions
If local law requires parental/guardian consent for minors, you must ensure such consent exists before providing personal data or submitting match videos involving minors. We may request confirmation or take action if misuse is suspected.
13. Your rights
Depending on your location (Switzerland/EU/UK and other jurisdictions), you may have rights including:
- access to your personal data;
- correction of inaccurate data;
- deletion (subject to legal retention obligations);
- restriction or objection to processing in certain cases;
- data portability (where applicable); and
- withdrawal of consent (where processing is based on consent).

14. Third-party links and services
Our Services may link to third-party websites or platforms (e.g., video hosts, social media). Their privacy practices apply to your interactions with them. We are not responsible for their content or processing.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is published on talnets.ch. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to inform you (e.g., notice in-app or on the website), where appropriate.
